- Theme: Cinco de Mayo

Goal of Session or Activity: This is a socialization session. Students will decorate sombreros, play a game and sample Tex-Mex foods.

Books and/or Materials featured:
-
Cinco De Mayo, by Diane Hoyt-Goldsmith
-
Various colored sombreos from OTC to embelish and decorate with craft materials from the classroom supply.
-
Apples to Apples game.
-
Tex Mex foods: Nachos and cheese, “Make your own” tacos, taquitas, pretzels, salsa, iced tea, water, plates,napkins and eating utensils.

Table cloth and southwest decor.
-
Number Attending 12 students and 1 adult

Theme: Art: Fusion pictures. Class 1 and 2

Goal of Session or Activity: Each student will Think of two or more unlikely subjects to fuse into a sketch and then a painting. Today’s session was step one, the idea, the sketch, the back ground…Next week step two complete the painting.

Books and/or Materials featured: Sketch paper, some pictures and books for inspiration, Scaminals and Behold the Bold Umbrelephant by Jack Prelutsky, canvas board, pencils, acrylic paints and brushes.

Number Attending : Class one,ten Students and one instructor. Class two, twelve Students and one instructor.

Theme: Art: Kites
-
Goal of Session or Activity: Each student will assemble and decorate a dehydrl Kono Kite kit. If assembled properly these kites will fly in very light breezes.
-
Books and/or Materials featured: Kono Kite kits for the classroom from
www.drachen.org , basic water color sets and brushes, tubs for mixing water, clear tape and imagination.

Number Attending :Ten Students and one instructor.
